DM:

Tonight's episode is sponsored by Eldritch Express. Souls delivered before the final boss. Need that ninth level scroll now? Eldritch Express gets you your arcane goods delivered in one d four hours, guaranteed or your soul back. So Alright.

DM:

Last time we left, you guys had successfully ended the fight and defeated the assassins. Managed to actually keep everybody alive. Even the even the even the wolf and his companion that jumped out the window inadvertently came flying back in.

Friar Peetor:

Woo hoo.

DM:

And you guys did manage to overpower the last assassin and take him alive while the other ones had made their escape or had been severely dealt with. The carcasses of the of the assassin bugs you had to deal with were quickly put to the torch to make sure they didn't regenerate with how evil of things those things were. And we'll pick it up from there. You guys have just the fight had just ended. You've got Corrin, the big dragonborn, holding the last assassin while the two dwarves are taking turns using him as a punching bag, trying to get him to

Friar Peetor:

talk, Tanya. Smack. Smack.

DM:

Yeah. Somehow, managed to do it without out killing him and everything else and

Friar Peetor:

Stop hitting my face.

DM:

Can't talk if you keep breaking the jaw.

Friar Peetor:

Right. Tuck the teeth out.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, we can we can heal him. Yeah. He's got a he's got a cleric with

DM:

him. And she looks and she's like, I'm not that yeah. Am that type of cleric. Do you guys have also managed to get the web off the door that it sealed the doors closed with along with a couple of the servants that were there? And about the time you guys get that clear, Radileth comes storming in as he had been informed that something had gone on.

DM:

He's entering to see what's going on. And he walks in and looks around. He's like, somebody wanna explain? Or should I guess? Radileth is the

Georgi Sarel:

Brad, the tiefling.

DM:

The big tiefling that runs the council.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, this wasn't part of the entertainment?

DM:

It's like judging by the scorch marks on the floor and what's left, I'd say definitely not. Seems like we have spies. It seems like our our address our the Giants have their spies like we have ours. And do you hear is like, yep. We got one and you got the got the dwarfs over there.

Georgi Sarel:

Hold him up by the scruff of the neck.

DM:

Yeah. He's pretty well worked over and he's like, you guys aren't gonna get information out of him. Like, you're gonna kill him before you get information out of him. And he's like, and your point is?

Friar Peetor:

And? As I as I look through my spell list.

Georgi Sarel:

As I you you you know what I'm doing right now.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm looking

Georgi Sarel:

at what I have prepared.

Friar Peetor:

Yeah. See, life transference. Interesting. No. Not exactly what I'm looking for.

DM:

He does he look he looks at one of the servants for a second. He's like, go get go get some more to clean this go get some more to clean this up. So they start moving around, clean stuff up. There's food and drink and you see the orange haired dwarf Thorin Thorin Thorin Thorin Thorin Sort of looked back over at the kegs and I'm like, oh, nuts. Looks like I've ruined all the looks like we've ruined all the drink.

DM:

As both kegs are broken open, spilled everything on the ground, most of the drinks have been spilled across the floor in the fight.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, god. We've got dwarves and we're out of beer.

Georgi Sarel:

Gary, I have dominate person prepared.

DM:

Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Could that be could My that be spell safe. Going cross eyed

DM:

Spells right tab,

Friar Peetor:

very top right hand side.

Georgi Sarel:

Thank you. Hang on one second. My save is 17. I'm a wizard. I

Friar Peetor:

only know because I was looking at it at moment.

Georgi Sarel:

Thank you. It's a Begala humanoid. You can see within range. Must succeed on a wisdom saving throw or be charmed.

DM:

He gets advantage because he's basically enemy.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. Well, yeah. Because it's he's as if they are friendly to you or fighting it, it has advantage because it's being constantly punched in the face currently. But I can use that action to take total and precise control. I could use that okay.

Georgi Sarel:

And I would do it at fifth level.

DM:

Okay. Because he has you feel oh, one of the things I'm gonna

Georgi Sarel:

It's a wisdom 17.

DM:

Yep. Wisdom 17. He rolled a natural 18 on his with advantage. Fuck. You feel the spell take hold for a moment?

DM:

Mhmm. Kinda slides away from him. And he looks over at you and smiles. He's like, you can't break. You can't enter my mind that easy.

Georgi Sarel:

Punch him in the face again.

Reynauld:

You have no power here.

DM:

You all hear rat you all hear Radleth speak to the opening goes, Haskin, would you mind joining us in the Observation Room 5, please? And you get and for those that are Kain users can see the magical energy, you know, whoosh away as you cast a sending spell. Not more than about a minute goes by as you guys are all going about your business. Yep.

Friar Peetor:

Speed speed bagging the enemy. Yes.

DM:

Hey. Yeah. And Rontore's taking the time to heal him a little bit to keep him on edge. It through the double door walks a humanoid fully shrouded. Got one of those big hats that allows the shroud to come over the face and everything down.

DM:

So it looks like they've got pretty much one long dress that hangs from the wide brim hat all the way down to about the midsection and they get the long pants and their feet are covered and they got their hands full sort of folded in the robes. And you hear a you hear a voice coming out of this blue garb. It's got the the

Georgi Sarel:

Is Arcanus?

DM:

Is this who?

Georgi Sarel:

Arcanus? Who is missing? You said blue. Oh, I have a list of who was missing.

Friar Peetor:

No. This is with the robes

DM:

and everything else. It's

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, okay.

DM:

He sort of looks over at Radleth. Radleth's like, it would be faster if you would get the information we need from the the speed bag over there. And he goes, of course. He was happy to help. And he's got a he's got a really odd voice the way it sounds.

DM:

Almost as if it's like it's almost it's a voice that doesn't match his size. It's a kind of a quiet softer voice for him. And he walks up to Corin. Corin's just sitting there, got him in a got him in a full Nelson holding him and everything He goes, don't worry, my friend. This will hurt you more than it hurts me.

DM:

And he kinda lifts up the veil. You see since he's got his back to most of you guys, you're not really sure what you're seeing. But you see Corin recoil and you see tentacles sort of reach out from underneath the veil and sort of wrap start wrapping around the guy's head as he pulls them in.

Georgi Sarel:

Do they have a, like, a mind flayer on staff?

DM:

Give me a perception roll there, Gio.

Friar Peetor:

Don't you?

DM:

Any anybody who wants to. They can give it that or they can do not survival. What's the nature is the other thing you can use if you want.

Georgi Sarel:

I got a 20, not natural. 12 plus eight.

DM:

You're pretty sure you're looking at the tentacles of a mind flayer reaching out to engulf this As soon as the the tentacles sit, you see the the assassin struggle for a little bit, then he sort of goes limp. And Corrin backs away, like, hands up like he looks at Radliffe. He looks at, you know, everybody else like, what the hell is going on? He's kind of horrified as well, but it takes in the in the time it takes you guys to recover and figure out what's going on, you maybe two minutes go by, and all of a sudden, you just see the assassin just sort of drop to the floor. Head's still intact.

Friar Peetor:

And the guy goes,

DM:

Head's still intact.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, okay.

DM:

He's like, ugh.

Georgi Sarel:

It's not like the end of Starship Troopers. Yeah. The

DM:

veil comes back down over, hides him again, everything else. He looks around. He's like, so? It would seem that your giant friends have allies with some of the other small folks. House Daru is seem to have teamed up with them to make sure they have access to the best assassins.

Georgi Sarel:

Not that good.

DM:

I think they underestimated who who was arriving here.

Friar Peetor:

Is it 18 enough to tell me who house Dru is Dru is?

DM:

Yes. House Dru is a assassin house. Generally, started as part of the dark elves throughout dark elves really not. But but the way they work and everything else, they pretty much train assassins, and they have been on the fringe of the elven communities, even on the fringe of the dark elf community as far out there as they want. They are more of a house that's sort of been not I wouldn't I wouldn't say banished, but banished and have been said to be destroyed.

DM:

But now they're they they took all that and turned turned their skill set into pretty much assassins for hire.

Friar Peetor:

Got it. House Daroo. Too hardcore even for the drow.

DM:

Something like that. Thanks. And that's where the Thurman looks over at him and he's like, so you do know where they're at? He goes, oh, yes. I have exactly where they're at, where the where the house is at out there on the far side of the realm.

DM:

He's, like, good. I think some payback's in order for them. And Corinne's like, I don't you know, Corinne and Rantari pipe up and says, yeah, I'll join you as well. But they basically go on as he basically tells you the story that they were they got the assassins planted inside the tower in hopes of disrupting any type of plan that the council puts together to disrupt the Giants plan.

Georgi Sarel:

And they very specifically came after our group and not the council itself.

DM:

You seem to be the more like more likely target to disrupt.

Reynauld:

I I don't think they'll be able to do anything to the council itself considering if if the rumors are true and that they're all dragons.

Georgi Sarel:

I suspect the rumors are true. And I just look at Raldorath and

DM:

Because it seems now that we have two targets. Chevron and Chevron, you're gonna lead a team to go disrupt the leadership, I take it. It's like, you're damn Skippy.

Georgi Sarel:

Deborah, before you leave, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions since it sounds like we're going to lose you from the party that is headed to Firestorm Pete. Would I

DM:

It's like I might be able to catch up with you. It shouldn't take too long to clean up a house.

Georgi Sarel:

Would I be presumptuous if I made a guess that you and your compatriot potentially could be descended from the Fireforged clan. Not that I'm making judgment based on apparel, but based on the way that you're dressed and the fact that y'all have red and orange mohawks that reach the sky like flames and are fighters with massive weapons. Would it be out of line to guess that you might have information that would be beneficial to us as we're about to make our way.

DM:

That's when Theveron looks over at the redhead one, and she goes, well, she's like, we're part of the clan, but descendants from it. So can't really say I know much about the city. I could tell you the I could tell you the history we've been told, you know, how the the powerful magics ripped it out of the mountains and and just destroyed the city. From what I understand is it's not been destroyed as we've been told. But we used he goes she goes, the clan itself used to be one of the largest makers of, really weapons.

DM:

They used to be the most sought after weapons on the realm. She's like, I know stories of my family members long past that have worked the forges, but they are simply the stories. She goes, the only thing I do carry is a is an old tattered and she pulls it out. It's it's literally a piece of, like, sheepskin map that is like a drawing of the city of almost like a sketch of the forges and what goes on of how the there is. She goes, but other than that, there's not much I can tell other than whatever they were doing, they angered somebody.

DM:

And my guess she goes, my guess from other stories I've heard is maybe they try to maybe they weaken the bonds of the elemental, the primordial they keep, and he was able to break free and in doing so destroyed the city at the same time. But knowing some of the other darker stories that they were always the clan was always trying to improve and find the pinnacle of a weapon, make the most powerful weapons out there.

Georgi Sarel:

Could that map be used as a key to travel to Gaunt Leg Room?

DM:

Don't know. Never knew it was still there. It's like, you can try. She's and she hands it over to you. She's you're like, this is old.

Georgi Sarel:

Mhmm. I'm gonna I'm gonna put it like like in one of the one of the sleeves that I use for my art, like when I go to Comic Con.

Reynauld:

There you go.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. I'm gonna I'm gonna

DM:

He also knows it's magically preserved as well.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. I'm gonna, you know, do a slight bow. I thank you for this. I'll I'll take care of it in good stead. Who who else is going after the assassins?

DM:

Born and Rintaria. The the dragonborn and the the priestess.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. So that means that Bliss and her Lupin friend are coming with us?

DM:

Bliss nod. She goes, yeah. We'll be more she's like, Ragnar and I will be more useful for you in the in Longbridge since we have contacts there. And Ragnar was like yes. I will make sure one of our contacts meet you there as well.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. And Raldorath is still there?

DM:

He's still he's still there waiting to see how you guys respond.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. So I would like to just look to the rest of the crew with Bliss. And my point is while we don't necessarily trust all their motives, but we agree that a 300 foot war machine is bad news. Despite our differing motivations, we're all in, I take it?

Friar Peetor:

Oh, oh, yes. Absolutely.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Well

DM:

You notice you notice Bliss is, like, half listening to you, she sort of pulls out her breasts and realizes, like, some dirt on them. She sort of wipes her hand. It's magic. And she's like, yeah. I'm in.

DM:

So

Georgi Sarel:

as we're trying to make these plans here, because it sounds like we're now down a few, My questions for everyone, is there any other information that we need? Because it sounds like we need to get to Firestorm Peak with a quickness. However, first option that was presented was just stopping this portal from opening in the first place. If we can do that, then that puts an end here and now. If not, then we will have to follow, and it complicates things.

Georgi Sarel:

But the ultimate question is, this fire primordial that will present the spark of life, Do we need to kill it? Do we need to protect it? How in fact will this spark be transferred? And I'm looking at Raldorath right now very specifically. What exactly are you asking us to do?

DM:

At that point, Ralderrath is like, well, I've you know? And that's where Bliss actually hands you one of hands you basically a cylinder about three feet long, about eight inches in diameter. It's got magical glyphs. It's got gold and platinum, a nice scroll. It looks like it looks like it would fit a very giant scroll in there.

DM:

And Ventari is basically you know, these are one of the containers that you you can use to capture that he gave us. Huddl's like, yeah. You can capture the primordial and put them in one of the two containers we've given you we've given you. You could set them free if you wish. You can kill it if you if you believe you can.

DM:

It is a primordial elemental. Or you simply have to deny the giants their ability to get access to it. It's like, I really don't I'm really not one way or the other, I know the council would be greatly appreciative if you could bring back the fire primordial the the primordial for us to study and maybe even give it to one of the dwarven clans to restart their forges. There is a it will definitely make the decisions of the Fireforge clans very happy to retrieve my Gera again.

Georgi Sarel:

So Sefron's still there. Right?

DM:

Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

What's he doing? Because he's here in this.

DM:

He's he's he's not really paying attention to it, but his his partner looks up. She's like, yeah. If we can if we can get the if we can get the Magira back, it'd be a great boon to the to those that are those the descendants of the Fireforged clan. We could actually restart our city.

Friar Peetor:

What what might you expect kind of reaction from the primordial if we suggested that? What kind of relationship did you have bef with the, primordial while he was working with you on your forges?

Georgi Sarel:

Or she. Or they. I

DM:

don't know. They never had stories about that. My guess is I would like I would like to say and hope that it was a an agreement between the two and the clan was not so much as capturing and enslaving a memorial against their will, but there are darker things that have happened. So unfortunately, I couldn't tell you, but if I find I find out, I'm sure I can get a message to you.

Friar Peetor:

That that would probably help. That would at least give us an idea of what sort of attitude he might have towards that suggestion, if nothing else.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, they're we're gonna, like, ask him to get back in the lamp?

Friar Peetor:

With this with this giant cylinder. We're just we're just your we're just here to take we're we're here to give you a taxi ride back to where you belong.

Georgi Sarel:

Lady Bliss, is this cylinder magical? Like, is this something where we just like open the cap and whoosh? Or is this something where there is a process and or procedure that we need to be aware of?

DM:

She picks it up and she's like, process is written on there. It's it only takes about twenty seconds to contain them. But the trouble is the proximity basically, you need to stay in contact with the creature for that time period.

Georgi Sarel:

Twenty seconds.

Friar Peetor:

I I I absentmindedly spin my ring of fire protection. That might be come that might come in handy. Although I doubt primordial fire would be resisted would be resisted.

DM:

Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh.

DM:

This is this is like, you know, captured it or freeing it to allow it to go back to its plane would probably be the freeing it to go back to its plane would probably be an easier task. Because if it's still anchored to the city, that means whatever bonds whatever bonds or entrapments that the dwarves had used to keep it there

Georgi Sarel:

still in

DM:

are still in effect. And she go, my guess is the fire forged clan somehow captured and bent the primordial to its will. I don't think there was a mutual understanding between the two.

Friar Peetor:

What what sort of manner might they use to keep them there? It's not a would it be a physical bond enchanted of some sort? Or would it be an enchantment of the area?

DM:

It would definitely be a powerful enchantment. Probably lots of runes, probably lots of glyphs, circles, and everything else that holds and rather rather like, yeah, to hold an elemental, it would it would take a very powerful magic enshrined there.

Friar Peetor:

And then we find out it's the the single most powerful encirclement of them all. He gave his word. I said I would. You know? What am I gonna do?

DM:

Everyone looks around. He's like looks at Radliff. He's like, we're gonna go get our we're gonna go get geared up and get out of here. I need somebody I need trans he's like, I need somebody who can cast magic and get us where we need to go. Radliff's like, walk with Haskell.

DM:

He'll get you to the right person. The big mind flayer in the boot in the blue dress walks away with everything, walks away with everybody else.

Georgi Sarel:

Based on the previous conversation, Corin had said that people aren't typically allowed into the area around the fire the

Friar Peetor:

The peak.

Georgi Sarel:

The the peak Firestorm Peak. Oh. We had discussed there being an upper entrance. Since we are not able to go through town in the merchant section Hello. I'm gonna look look around.

DM:

You can go through town. He's like but that's basically where a non giant where a non giant can end. They they stay in the town of Longbridge. The giants bring back the gear or they have some very trusted friends of the town that bring the gear back. But mainly, they trans transport the items back and forth out of the mountain.

Georgi Sarel:

Rlder Ralph, do you have the ability to procure necessary supplies if we make a list so that we can

DM:

It would kinda be what use would the council be if we couldn't at least make sure you guys had the proper gear to do our bidding?

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Well, I think I think we're in accord that time is of the essence. We have between two to four to six days depending on what Zelius says is happening at any moment in time. But sunset or midnight have been discussed as the times that it is likely the portal will be open. So it seems like maybe a daytime attack would be most viable.

DM:

As we Do As we get better information, we will make sure to pass it your way.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm sorry. Gary, please repeat that.

DM:

Rather often, it says, as we get more information about the arrival of the dragon's tier, we will get it to you as as expediently as possible. And besides, once you get, we will have we will definitely have one of our contacts meet you there. Piet arm Piet Ironstrider will meet you outside of town. He will at least be able to direct you through most of the town, if nothing else. And he also knows where the the, entrances, some of the old lava tubes or steam vents that are that have been closed off that can be used as entrances into the mountain.

DM:

So unless you guys wanna go through a shopping episode.

Georgi Sarel:

No. That's kinda why I said, can you just procure shit for us?

Friar Peetor:

Yeah. Ladies and gentlemen at home, we will save you from that particular suffering.

DM:

I know there's a whole fandom that loves the shopping episodes, but the DM does not feel right.

Georgi Sarel:

Honest to God, also, if I could put digital dice in jail, I would because I don't even have any confidence in my ability to haggle. I'm like, you guys got the cash. Give me the shit. Let's go.

DM:

Understood. So is there anything unusual you guys are requesting?

Friar Peetor:

I think before we get into that, we wanna probably talk about spell you you had said that for spell components, you were going to give us some flexibility

Georgi Sarel:

that's kinda where I was gonna ask. I mean, some of it I I added minor things to my inventory comes

DM:

to spell components, it requires a item of a certain value. You can swap that out with just the value of gold.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay.

DM:

You don't have to particularly go, I got the chalice. I'll be like, you guys are a high enough level that you guys know what you need. And given the council, they also know what most of the spells you need. So they they give you access to those type of things out there.

Friar Peetor:

I'm looking at my original my original shopping spreadsheet to see if there was

Georgi Sarel:

Well, it I did some stuff like I I actually added, like, a magnifying glass because I was like, I can break that and use it for components, like but I didn't know how specific we had to be. Like, if it's like, you need a pinch of snuff. I'm like, do I actually have to carry a snuff box?

DM:

I am not gonna hold you guys to the whole detail of stuff. You're spell casters, you know what you need to carry. K. As we move forward with the stuff as we move forward with the adventure, it winds up being to the point of you guys may not have had time to resupply and everything else. I may question what you have access to.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay.

DM:

But unlikely. This one takes the fun out of way of game. I I make you guys literally micromanage every piece of every piece of everything out there.

Reynauld:

Fun over the tedium. Yes.

Georgi Sarel:

Well, mean, I don't wanna carry like a ream of paper. Alright.

DM:

You guys you don't have that bag of bag of spell component holding where you're just shoving everything in there?

Georgi Sarel:

I considered a bag of holding, but it didn't it didn't match my outfit.

DM:

Of course. If you guys would like if if you guys do not have a bag of holding for your characters and you would like one, you can add it to your inventory.

Georgi Sarel:

Does anybody have a bag of holding? Just asking. Don't.

Georgi Sarel:

I I do now.

Georgi Sarel:

Well, that can be used for shenanigans as well.

Friar Peetor:

I have carrion crawler mucus.

Georgi Sarel:

I have a bottle of boundless coffee.

Reynauld:

Oh.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, there you go. That's that's what she

DM:

an adventure that's prepared.

Friar Peetor:

I have two. Count them two immovable rods. Gary loves when we play with play the immovable rod game.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm laughing. It's like it's a wondrous item. Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Yep. Remember, Ken. Remember, if it's if the skeleton's stuck to the wall, do not pull her on.

Friar Peetor:

That's right. Just leave it to

Georgi Sarel:

me. Alright. Renal, do you have anything to say about taking off?

Reynauld:

Like, gear wise or in character wise?

Georgi Sarel:

Questions Do you in character, or do you have things that we wanna request from

Reynauld:

He is more of a point me at the bad guy type of deal. Direct my holy crusader fury, and it's pretty much been ready to go the entire time.

DM:

Know, you know, so we know how to be grabbed and turned around. No. You're not going with the dwarves back over here.

Reynauld:

I don't know.

DM:

It's like, they're gonna go do stuff.

Reynauld:

In other words, if if I were to describe him in one sentence, it would be, that's a bold statement from someone within crusading range.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Well, then I take it rather have his supply to with our stuff. We need to get our ass out.

DM:

Yep. You guys got your stuff. Those of you who needed healing have been healed.

Friar Peetor:

Can anyone speak giant?

DM:

And Bliss was like, it's not a language I can't speak.

Georgi Sarel:

That's probably true, actually.

Georgi Sarel:

Really? Gary? Bliss can't speak that language? Been around for a minute.

DM:

I said said there's not a language she can't speak.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, okay. Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. It's my hearing. Yep.

Georgi Sarel:

It's not it's, you know, even with my noise canceling headphones on, my my freedom still rings. Yep. Hang

Georgi Sarel:

on a second. I think I have comprehend languages, though, which would help for reading, but not

DM:

Understood.

Georgi Sarel:

No. I don't I don't speak giant. I speak draconic though, which is clearly helpful here.

Friar Peetor:

They do too. Where does

Georgi Sarel:

it where does that show up under our stuff here in the

Friar Peetor:

Bottom left hand corner. Proficiencies and training, bottom of the list.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, I'm looking at the wrong place, don't ask. Alright. Yeah. No. I also do not speak giant.

DM:

Alright.

Reynauld:

I also speak draconic. Maybe that would have been useful.

Georgi Sarel:

Maybe that's maybe that's that's why the giants or the dragons grabbed all of us.

DM:

Alright. As you're as you're standing there, Radless, sitting there waiting for you guys, are you ready? He's like, join hands. He's and he he casts teleport, and you guys blink out. And when you blink back in, it is late afternoon in the forest as you guys were standing on a small hilltop, small grove of tree cope of trees around you.

DM:

You can see a a road not more than not more than 50 yards from you. Do you see probably about three miles with the rolling hills that you're at, you can easily see the town of Longbridge that's at the base of Firestorm Peak. And Firestorm Peak is very prominent in in your eastern view as you look around as the

Friar Peetor:

as So we're

Georgi Sarel:

to the west.

DM:

Yes. This is to the West of Firestorm Peak.

Friar Peetor:

And this road leads both up the peak and down to the and down to the city?

DM:

Yeah. It's you the road leads to the city, which is at the base of the peak.

Friar Peetor:

Ah, but that's where our contact is. So that's Right. Well,

DM:

as you guys are standing, as you guys bounce in, get your bearings and look around and everything else, you know you notice a creature steps out of the trees, got the long tentacles draped beneath at the big bug eyes, comes starts walking up towards your group, about seven and a half feet seven and a half, eight feet tall, striding towards you.

Friar Peetor:

Well, hello.

DM:

He goes he goes, you must be from Radulus. Hello. We're Counselor.

Friar Peetor:

Travelers, indeed. How can we help you?

Georgi Sarel:

Or how can you help us?

DM:

He's like, I'm here to escort you into Longbridge. It's got that gurgling because you're taking all the fun out of this. You see him sort of snap his fingers, The mind flayer illusion melts away. And in front of you, he stands a Goliath. He's like, no fun at all.

DM:

He was unpiet.

Friar Peetor:

We we just met one of those guys a moment ago. It's no big deal to us now.

DM:

Oh, like I said,

Georgi Sarel:

just Breaches go down and shakes you. Yeah.

DM:

Hicks you up, shakes the hand, puts you back

Friar Peetor:

down. Hey.

Reynauld:

It's like

Friar Peetor:

Turtle legs in the air.

DM:

I don't think I've ever I don't think I've ever I've heard of you. I've heard of the your kind of tortoise. I don't think I've ever met him.

Friar Peetor:

We're in a vicious race. True warriors to the core.

DM:

I noticed. It's like

Friar Peetor:

Where's your library?

DM:

I'm missing a finger already. He's like, well, about a three mile walk back to the back to the town Longbridge and everything else. They're getting ready for the celebration. And, you know, so if you got any you get I can answer any questions you have on the way, but we need to when you get moving, I like to get there before sunsets.

Friar Peetor:

Certainly. I've

DM:

got I've got alcohol to drink.

Georgi Sarel:

As we're as we're looking around, the option is to go down to town or up to the peak where we know the portal's going to be?

DM:

No. The option is to go to the town, which is on the road between you and the mountain.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. So it's it's on the way.

DM:

Yes. So the town's gonna be there for you're gonna encounter the town before you encounter the actual volcanic mountain. It it's one of those volcanoes that you you could think of it like what you've seen with Mount Fuji.

Georgi Sarel:

Mhmm. Where Where it rises above?

DM:

Yeah. Above everything else, and it pretty much dominates the view to the dominates your eastern view. Smoke's pouring out at the top. It's an active volcano. You don't see any bright orange rolling down the sides or anything right now.

DM:

But, you know, even at this distance, you get a good idea. It's like, yeah. That's probably one of the most active ones I've ever heard of.

Friar Peetor:

Mount Fuji photoshopped red.

DM:

Got it. There you go.

Friar Peetor:

So tell us about this celebration going on in town.

DM:

Oh, he's like, oh, it's one of the best. Unfortunately, it only happens like once every twenty five years when the when the comet returns. But people it's last about five days. Comet stays around for about five days. He goes, but everybody celebrates, has a great time, and pretty much it's all night of partying.

DM:

The comet lights up the sky with the most spectacular light show you've ever seen. The volcano becomes very, very active. Some of the some of the mages will take the time to ensure that the active lava actually stays away from the town, but it still puts on a great shelf. And, also, it the Giants use this this particular time period to actually imbue some of their more unique creations.

Friar Peetor:

Do tell.

DM:

Goes he goes, well, you know you know as well as that. He he goes, if you haven't heard this, the glass makers here, the metal benders, this the work they do was absolutely sought after by anybody who was of, you know, royalty status, things like that. They they just love this work. It is one of the most these artists here are some of most sought after I don't know. I mean, you you name it.

DM:

They've probably created it from glass, and it's sought after. But in this effect in this time period, they can make some of the most unique stuff. He takes the moment to describe it. And the best way to actually describe it from our our point of view is the glass becomes like lava lamps. Oh.

DM:

Yeah. So things are moving and shaking. That's so it's the next level of design and sought after type artistry that can only be found once every twenty five years. And they're always unique in the properties. They're they range from, you know, the little knickknacks you put on shelves to chandeliers to decorations all the way across the board.

DM:

There's a whole gambit of stuff that could be bought. He goes, if you're looking for it, you can find it. He goes, but this celebration is a pretty much an all night party. You don't see much activity during the day except for those that tend to the flocks and the the fields and everything else. And but, yeah, it's because it's literally off the chain.

Georgi Sarel:

So once

DM:

it starts.

Georgi Sarel:

PIAT. Yeah. Is this a opportunity for us to use the shenanigans to get out of town and potentially get ahead of the Giants?

DM:

They're it's a good opportunity to go investigate the mountain and not be disturbed by any of their patrols.

Friar Peetor:

How does how discreet need we be in the city? I'm assuming we shouldn't be too overt about our objectives, but at the same time, are there active defensive measures in place in the city?

DM:

I'm not sure what you what you what you

Georgi Sarel:

do we have to worry about overt racism?

DM:

Oh, he goes oh, he goes no. He goes this is this is one this is one of the few places that is like it's a mixing pot for everything. The city's basically quadrupled in size for the next two weeks.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. It's it's Mardi Gras.

DM:

Yeah. It's Mardi Gras.

Friar Peetor:

Didn't mean without any beads.

DM:

Yeah. He's like, oh, there's plenty of them if you want them.

Georgi Sarel:

To real quick, there's seven of us. Correct? There's the party of five. Sorry. Plus

DM:

Plus plus Ragnar and Bliss.

Georgi Sarel:

Plus Ragnar and Bliss. Okay. Okay. The only reason that I ask is that I can cast invisibility on up to seven targets. I don't think we need it right now.

DM:

He's like, oh, no. You very few will even notice. He goes, give us about a mile out of town and you were were about a mile out of town, we'll hit hit one of the crossroads, the North South Crossroads, and we'll blend right in with all the other traffic that's coming in.

Friar Peetor:

Alright. Very good. I've heard of certain magical conjurings that will allow an entire group to move secretly as a group. Does someone happen to have that ability?

DM:

Pass without a trace? Yeah. That one.

Friar Peetor:

Trying to stay in character here.

Georgi Sarel:

Like like I said, I can make us invisible, but I can't make us roll higher.

DM:

Right. I'm

Friar Peetor:

sure Solis has that ability, so we'll just say she's

Georgi Sarel:

I bet I bet she does have passages.

DM:

She's she's she's engaged for you all.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. She's she's in the she's just hanging out in the back thinking about all the money. Yep.

Friar Peetor:

She's cutting those chickens before they're

Georgi Sarel:

hatched. Yep. I mean, what do you guys think? I say we head into town and hear what we can hear.

DM:

Yeah. He was literally walking you guys into town. So I mean and he's he wasn't lying about a mile out of town. We got caravan showing up. It seems like the road you guys approached on is not a well you well traveled road, but the North South route that you guys encountered is like, here comes everybody that heads along to Longbridge.

DM:

And as you approach, you notice the town is like colorful flyers with flags flying. It is all decked out. You're kinda surprised to see the difference in size because most of you are used to seeing the normal humanoid size of structures and everything else. And then you got giants to step out of buildings and move around. No problem.

DM:

Everybody's in a various bright colored garb. Excuse me. As you guys are moving through, you guys get to the city and everything else. People are literally celebrating, waving flags, banners. You got vendors walking around, passing out samples of their pastries or getting, the small samples of various alcohol.

DM:

They kind of look at Renault for a second and they kinda step aside even though like, yeah, we'll hold it out for them. But the armors it's not so much racing. It's more like, this guy is being in business. We're just gonna keep moving. It's it's kinda killing their killing the vibe of what they want.

DM:

Piet moves you through the town. You guys, the town normally, you're guessing maybe a thousand people total, and most of it's all built on the industry to sell the artwork that is created here. You're looking at probably the town is at least five times at least four times that for the amount of people overflow. Tents are set up. They're lined along the the the river.

DM:

So

Friar Peetor:

oh, stuffed quail eggs. Oh, Renault, you should try this.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah.

Friar Peetor:

Along the way, I keep trying to find things to to to entice Renault into having a snack.

DM:

As

Georgi Sarel:

as we're walking into town, I'm gonna take my entire purse sash satchel and tuck it back inside behind my leather coat so that basically somebody would have to lift my jacket in order to put hands on it.

DM:

Well, I know some d I know I know some people who played on some rough DMs. We're gonna lighten the PCs load as they come into town.

Georgi Sarel:

Based on said there's a there's a a grip of people here, four times what you would expect normally population wise. I would assume that inns and taverns are gonna be bustling.

DM:

Oh, they all are, but I was like, don't worry about it. I've I've I've got some place for you.

Georgi Sarel:

Look around?

DM:

Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

Should we should we sit and reconvene, gentlemen? And ladies?

DM:

She's like she's like somewhere to get this road road dirt off is what Bliss ass and Pisces come on. And leads you into what you guess would be a on any other given time would be like a flower shop, but it seems to have been cleared out. It's more of like herbalism, things like that, plants like that. Leads you up through a set of stairs and plops down up on a deck overlooking things and says, take yourself at home. He's like, unfortunately, there's only two rooms.

DM:

You you guys get to share the two rooms if you're staying the night.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, shit. No. I I do have comprehend languages. It says spoken. Sorry.

DM:

Yeah. You're good.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. That's just written.

DM:

And he goes he goes, let me go get you guys let me get you guys some refreshments.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, excellent.

DM:

And you guys can see the movement of It basically brings up a big pot of sangria and a collection of fruits and vegetables.

Friar Peetor:

Let's see. This fruit tea has gone bad. Still quite tasty. I think I have some more.

Georgi Sarel:

Gonna have a drunk fire on our hands. You're only four four eight. Right?

Friar Peetor:

Well, do they point out I'm a drunken monk?

DM:

I just realized we're missing we're missing the other monk. I see he stood us up. That's right. We're not only missing Sleese. We're missing the other drunk, Rowan.

DM:

I'll have it out with him later. Oh, boy. But Piet sits down. They're surprisingly chair sizes sort of fit you guys all. Piet sort of plops down in, like, the big Papa's on beanbag chair up on the deck and everything else.

DM:

And you do you got the the way the house is facing, the way you guys are on the roof, it's basically the big giant view of Firestorm Peak. And he points out, he's like he's like Nice view. He's like, beautiful view, black and what you what he wants to point out to you because he goes, if you look right over the top of this house and you know, basically There's the path, the main path that the Giants use and you can see the big carved entrance. Looks to be like a little little less than a little about a half mile off from you girls. He goes, that's the main entrance in and out where they bring all their goods, the wagons, and stuff like that.

DM:

He goes, unfortunately, that's not the way we're going. And he looks up the peak and everything else. He goes, see those vents off to the right? And you see, like, the plume of smoke about the little about three quarters of the way up to the top of the mountain. You got the main smoke coming out from the main crater, then you got this group of plume that are just sort of about quarter of way down from the top that are just spilling out to the side.

DM:

He's like, that's our way in up there.

Friar Peetor:

The white plume off the mountain? Got it.

DM:

He's Well

Georgi Sarel:

he's like interest easy to find.

DM:

He's like, well, it's not actually those those vents, but nearby those vents, there's are some old lava tubes where lava had spilled out that is for whatever reason, since I've been using it, but there's a way to get in through the top.

Georgi Sarel:

That's the that's the upper third entrance that we've been discussing.

DM:

That is the upper entrance.

Friar Peetor:

And really old gamers recognize that reference.

DM:

I did not put the trident in this one.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. Not

Friar Peetor:

overwhelm us, would you?

DM:

I would not overwhelm you.

Georgi Sarel:

Yes.

Friar Peetor:

Welcome to old gamers talk. Yeah. We're here to regale you with games have gone by.

DM:

Let's see. There's Dragon Mountain, there's Firestorm Peak, and there's White Plume Mountain. Right.

Friar Peetor:

We've merged them all together into one mega mega mega dungeon.

DM:

Looking at all I'm looking at all the old boxes right now with my Yep. My thing going, wow. But anyways

Friar Peetor:

Look at this, a chessboard floor. What'll happen here, g I wonder?

Georgi Sarel:

Alright.

DM:

Campaign three, we start with the Tomb Of Horrors.

Friar Peetor:

Right. New. Start and end. Alright. Enough of old gamers chatting.

DM:

Yeah. Back to reality.

Georgi Sarel:

I was about to use prestigitation to just like make make fryer Peter all dirty.

DM:

You know that you you can press the gestation there, Gio. You notice Bliss is like, that's something she's constantly casting because she's just like, nope.

Georgi Sarel:

Nope. Yeah. That's what she's doing. That's what she's been doing. Right?

Georgi Sarel:

She's been cleaning her her dress using prestidigitation. And Hopefully, has some spell slots in case something goes down.

DM:

Yeah. She's also her garb's also changed into much more of a outdoor movement, more of the movement type style. And so the nice dress that she was wearing when she showed up and traveled out Alright.

Georgi Sarel:

So are we gonna go out in the town and try and hear what we can hear as far as things happening? Or do we wanna try and sneak out?

DM:

It's like you're welcome.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm asking the rest of the group.

DM:

Pius, as you

Reynauld:

know, you're one.

DM:

You let me know what you need from me.

Reynauld:

My palate in plate mail certainly can try to sneak out.

Georgi Sarel:

But the You just like you like like plank while you walk.

Friar Peetor:

Oh. All the subtlety of a pile of cans.

Reynauld:

Exactly.

Friar Peetor:

It it it for long term, it it might behoove us best to draw as little attention in the town as we can. If we have needs that we have to address in town, we should do them as quickly as possible. But at the same time, the last thing we wanna do is

Georgi Sarel:

Draw attention. Yeah.

Friar Peetor:

Approach the mountain with a with a with a gaggle of of porch torch and pitchfork wielding locals Okay. Trailing behind.

DM:

He's like, you can always you know, there's a few hours be you know, there's still a few hours of daylight left. You guys can always go and entertain yourself with the festivities that are starting. There's always competitions of strength there, Renault. There's always fighters looking to prove themselves if you would like to give them the opportunity and and some friendly I'd

Friar Peetor:

love to watch that.

Georgi Sarel:

So we keep ourselves busy for a few hours and then under the cover of darkness?

DM:

Yep. Because if that's what you guys would like to do, we can move forward.

Friar Peetor:

Indeed. Although I would like to see Renault get give give somebody a good threshing.

Georgi Sarel:

Peter, I'm I'm sure that there's much to be learned about the secrets of glass and metal.

Friar Peetor:

Well, I didn't say I would always be watching, did I? There's downtime.

DM:

Alright. Do you guys hang out in this hang out up at the in Piat's loft? Or do you guys go hang out and go wander around the town for a few hours before you waiting for the darkness to fall to get up to the up to the mountain.

Friar Peetor:

I suspect we we start with the former and end with the latter. We start with the former, get to the point where it's like, I'm too I'm too keyed up. What about you? Yes. Yes.

Friar Peetor:

Yes.

Georgi Sarel:

Separate from everything, maybe maybe we let Solis hang out in the loft

Reynauld:

Yep.

Georgi Sarel:

And counter purse. That way, we don't have to worry about our bad decisions affecting her.

DM:

Solis and Ronan decide to hang out with Bliss and Ragnar while you guys go wandering around the town. Perfect. Alright.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm a I'm a I'm a tip my hat at Friar Peter and Aaron, and I'm gonna say, gentlemen, lead the way.

Friar Peetor:

Who over there seems to be particularly interesting?

DM:

So as you guys move through, you notice that the various carnival events are starting to liven up as as it gets closer to sundown. There's a couple you guys can hear, like, the makeshift what you call it? Makes not Coliseum, but makeshift arena going on. You see giants were standing looking over the top and hear cheers going up. And you hear you see a few people sort of point at Renault and everything else wondering if he's gonna go go join.

DM:

You know, you can you can hear us like, oh, there's another champion going to see what they can do. And but you have a whole gamut of stuff. Everybody each of you that are walking through town, roll me a d 10, please.

Friar Peetor:

Okay. What the Microsoft, stop it. Oh, crap. Or, oh, yay. Not sure which is good.

Friar Peetor:

But I got a one.

DM:

You get a one.

Georgi Sarel:

What did I get? I clicked it, didn't I?

DM:

Nope. Now

Georgi Sarel:

I've clicked it twice. Nope. Unclick. Now it's three times. How many times?

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, now I'm at eleven. I think I fucked up. Hang on a second.

DM:

Let's see if I let's see if I have Peter's only one.

Friar Peetor:

You rolled a d 10 and got a got an eleven.

Georgi Sarel:

I got a I got an eight. Okay.

Friar Peetor:

Here we go. I got a 3.

DM:

3?

Reynauld:

I got a 5.

DM:

5. Alright. Alright, Peter. You noticed that as you're moving along, carrying on everything else, You notice that two individuals take a good hard note of note of you. They are they have a quick discussion, and they sort of vanish to one building.

DM:

It it seems like that that you definitely attracted their attention for some reason, now they're moving off to to do something.

Friar Peetor:

How about an insight role against what they what they might be attending?

DM:

By all means.

Friar Peetor:

That would be a

Georgi Sarel:

29. Oh, nine.

DM:

Whoo. You can break the

Georgi Sarel:

threes on nine.

Friar Peetor:

29. I have a plus 11 on insight.

DM:

Nicely done. You get a pretty good idea that your uniqueness of being a turtle has stood out as it's one that's one of the groups one of the races you haven't really seen here.

Friar Peetor:

Hey. Got it.

DM:

In a very large number, you're like maybe one or two or three. That's you you see at least two others around here. But you got a pretty good idea that they're like, oh, I've been made because people somebody's already told them what who to look for that might be coming here.

Friar Peetor:

I will I will pass this information to the rest of the crew.

Georgi Sarel:

Wait. Wait. I'm not stand out there, Ken.

Friar Peetor:

I'm sorry.

Reynauld:

Dick turtles.

Georgi Sarel:

You think the house the house diru is still looking for us?

Friar Peetor:

Did they seem to be assassin y?

DM:

They look both of them looked like merchants. More of the, I'd say workers for merchants and everything else. So somewhere in the the worker class. But they're definitely not the type of people that are smart for spies because one of them goes, hey, and points pointed directly at you before the other guy grabs you. Don't point at him type stuff.

Friar Peetor:

I think we should follow them and make sure and see where they who they report to.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

You're say if they are wearing a chef's apron

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

He may wanna worry about that turtle soup.

Georgi Sarel:

Right. I was saying like, orange borg.

Friar Peetor:

I

DM:

didn't even think about that. That's a that was weird. They're looking to make some turtle soup.

Friar Peetor:

Turtle soup, dude, and the Hershey.

DM:

You guys would like to give me you guys just gonna go moving down into the building that they moved? You're gonna sneak around? It's it's a standard building that they're at. It's definitely a storefront. Looks like they've moved past into the back.

DM:

Instead of going through the front, they went down, like, the side alley, and they moved through a door that probably is the back of the building, maybe a warehouse based on the size of it. I

Georgi Sarel:

think we should follow them.

Friar Peetor:

I I agree. We're following. Is there any way we can stealth up?

DM:

You guys like to roll stealth so you're not noticed?

Friar Peetor:

Except for the giant clanking can.

Reynauld:

Yeah. I have a negative one.

DM:

Well, we'll make this we'll make this a group stealth.

Reynauld:

And roll with disadvantage.

DM:

Alright. We'll make this a group.

Georgi Sarel:

Group stealth?

DM:

Group stealth. So if you're more successful than you are failures.

Georgi Sarel:

I gotta I gotta plus zero to my stealth.

Friar Peetor:

I've got a guidance for anybody who needs it. Or it's a group, so I'll just throw it at the group.

Georgi Sarel:

Or or yeah. Or

Friar Peetor:

or however that acts.

Georgi Sarel:

I got a 12.

Friar Peetor:

Okay. Throw a d four on top of it or are we doing it individuals?

DM:

We gotta do it you gotta do it as individuals. You

Georgi Sarel:

gotta averages. Right?

DM:

Correct.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah.

DM:

More successes over failures.

Friar Peetor:

I'll give my I'll give my I'll give

Georgi Sarel:

oh. Give now give her now the

Friar Peetor:

The yeah. The Renald, dang it. Man, put your name on his put your character name on his give it to that guy. It's like, take it off

DM:

his name.

Friar Peetor:

That's his real name.

DM:

That's Ragnolte.

Reynauld:

Yeah. So I rolled a three and a 10. So I roll with disadvantage. So I take the three with a minus one. That's a two stealth.

Friar Peetor:

Alright. Now add a d four because you need to be you don't need to bring that up.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah.

Reynauld:

I don't think you can turn it into a success, but sure. I'll roll a d four on that as well. Four. Alright. There you go.

DM:

You're rolling beyond or on on something else soon?

Reynauld:

Yeah. I I just been rolling to self.

Friar Peetor:

Here comes mine.

DM:

Okay.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, I got an eight. We're not stealthy.

Reynauld:

Anyway, I got a six total for stealth. So

Georgi Sarel:

We left our stealth machine back Yeah. Our group our group stealth is great.

Friar Peetor:

We left our stealth machine back home.

DM:

So we got a 12, we got an eight. What about

Georgi Sarel:

We got a 12, an eight, and a four. Is that Yep. Where we're at? Because there's just three of us right now. Right?

Georgi Sarel:

I got I got 14.

Georgi Sarel:

14. Okay. So okay. Yeah. Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Somebody

DM:

Yeah. Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. Then the the six foot three elf that's wearing, you know, like, plate mail.

Georgi Sarel:

Flame. Flame. Still did the best out of anybody.

DM:

Right? This as a six foot three

Friar Peetor:

we're We're all tromping through there, looking back at each other. Shh. He can hear us.

DM:

As you guys are moving to claw. The alleyway, you guys don't make it you don't do that nonchalant thing of everybody sort of meander their way over there. It's more like a direct beeline of crossing the street. Claw, And as you're and as you're crossing the street, there's there's a various group of young kids that are basically doing the color run, throwing up a and they pretty much all bomb you with a bunch of different colors and just make you a

Georgi Sarel:

It's like it's like holly?

DM:

Yes. You I mean, you've you've got pinks, you've got reds, you've greens, yellows. You're Renault seems to be the big target of it because they thought they think it'd be fun to make a eight armor plate, all the various powdered colors they can throw on it.

Reynauld:

I mean, with the minus one dexterity, it's not like you can dodge out of the way. Splash. She's she's just gonna he's just gonna tank it.

DM:

Yeah. Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

So

DM:

You guys step in the alleyway sort of wiping your you know, sweeping your hands back and forth to coughing out the color run powder that's you guys have Gio seems to have got the least least of it done to your to him. Why everybody else is like

Friar Peetor:

Hopefully, it's not asbestos.

Georgi Sarel:

Well, it's probably luck lucky we left Bliss back at the room.

DM:

The portal and the and the tank are all unique colors and

Georgi Sarel:

Wait. So so wait. Peter, could you, like, take your head down and out again as a tortle? So, like, is your shell all colored, but your head's okay? Because you, like

Friar Peetor:

I wasn't I wasn't ducking it. I took it like a man. I like looking like this. I think I look fantastic.

DM:

That's what that's what everybody notices that on both Renault and Peter, one of the kids was quick enough to basically tag you with a bunch of j's, like a street tiger for paint.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh. Yeah. You you look like a train car and all.

DM:

So does the back of the tortle.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, no. The shell? Yep.

Friar Peetor:

No. This is completely inappropriate. Colors is fine.

Georgi Sarel:

But Alright. So Here. My my concern is that this tagging might be intentional. I am gonna try and use prestidigitation to clean this off. Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Hang on. I gotta figure out how the fuck to do that, though. One second. Which one? Level

DM:

one or I can't remember if it's

Georgi Sarel:

A level if it if it's a level one I thought it was just a key trip. But if I want the if I want the 10 foot area so I can get both of them within the range, Could I just do that as one? Because it says they're they're bigger than a cubic foot, but we're talking about a

DM:

That's a

Georgi Sarel:

a flat plane.

Reynauld:

It's a cantrip. You can keep just keep Yeah.

DM:

You you can basically spam it

Georgi Sarel:

as a cantrip. I can just do it.

Reynauld:

You can go we're not in combat, so there's no Yeah. Like time limitation. If you're

DM:

walking along, you notice the you could you can cast the cantrip multiple times to clear up the powder off each of you.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. I'm gonna I'm gonna cast prestidigitation and clean it off. One, because I really like this jacket. And two, because in case that marking was intentional, I don't wanna keep it keeping on.

Friar Peetor:

Understood. Nice. Presto. You're clean. Presto.

Friar Peetor:

You're clean.

Georgi Sarel:

I I just see, like, for our peer, like, leaning down and getting the powder on the bottom, like like Right. Alright. Let's let's let's clear that all up.

DM:

As you guys as you guys come into the into the alleyway, Powder's all blown away. You're like, okay. This is this party can get off off can get pretty well off the rails once the sun sets. You're you're guessing it's gonna get gonna get busy. As you guys get in there, you notice that the the door that the two humans ran through is like the smaller door for is like the small inset door for a larger door.

DM:

And as you guys are approaching, there's a the large double doors sorta open up and a a giant steps out of the doors. And he steps out and makes a hard left away from you guys and starts moving through through the out what would could what is considered an alleyway there, which is big enough for him to walk through without bumping into things. So it's about a street size for you guys. And he moves out the back as if he's making a beeline up towards the backside of town and going towards almost giving you the person that he's heading up towards the moving towards the entrance in the Firestorm Peak.

Georgi Sarel:

And we're approaching sunset right now?

DM:

Yep.

Georgi Sarel:

The time when it was most likely that they'd be able to open the portal?

DM:

Only when the Dragon Tear has appeared. The Dragon Tear has

Georgi Sarel:

not not yet. Okay.

DM:

Has not appeared yet.

Friar Peetor:

Even have to roll insight to know that we've gotta stop that guy? I think not.

DM:

You can roll insight, just don't roll a one. Right.

Friar Peetor:

I didn't.

DM:

There you go.

Georgi Sarel:

I rolled it Woah.

DM:

You guys see like I said, you see a giant. He steps out. He he doesn't even look to he doesn't even look towards you guys where, you know, to his right. He opens doors, steps out and sort of shuts behind him, then steps off left and he's Webb. Making a beeline out of here.

Georgi Sarel:

Webb. So should we should we follow him stealthily?

Friar Peetor:

Nope. Done. Webb.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Fire Peter's off.

Friar Peetor:

No. There's a web.

DM:

Oh, oh, you cast oh, you cast a web.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, you cast web on him.

DM:

Oh, I'm sorry.

Georgi Sarel:

Yep. Is he close enough?

DM:

Yeah. He's with a

Friar Peetor:

he's with range.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Yeah.

Friar Peetor:

Let me see.

DM:

He will probably Is is it a Dodge?

Friar Peetor:

Dex 13.

DM:

Dex 13.

Friar Peetor:

Let's see what the ultimate effect here is to see if they

DM:

They become restrained, I believe. Yep.

Friar Peetor:

Yep. They're restrained. But let's see.

DM:

That was a that was a that's a good good time to roll a one. Oh, it was perfect. I was like, that was a good time to roll a one. As you as you turn to see the for Peter, you see the giants sort of running off. You go you guys are either you guys watch all you guys see is this, like, gossamer strings sort of appear from fire Peter's hands, and all of a sudden you see the legs of the giants sort of wrap up coming together and you see, and fall to the ground.

Georgi Sarel:

Like Spider Man just like

Friar Peetor:

Mhmm. I'm gonna let's see. So he's he's restrained. We're not in initiative yet. Doesn't appear.

DM:

That so

Georgi Sarel:

I like yet.

DM:

You guys have the surprise round on him. So the other three can take actions as well. What would you like to do?

Georgi Sarel:

Akuz? Malish you.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. My my wife is talking to me. What what what are we doing with this guy?

Georgi Sarel:

So We we we just hamstrung him.

DM:

Fire Peter just wrapped his legs up in a web and he fell to the ground.

Friar Peetor:

Clunk.

Georgi Sarel:

Why why are we attacking this giant?

Georgi Sarel:

He's about to a good idea at the time.

Friar Peetor:

He's gonna narc on us.

Georgi Sarel:

Or or maybe not, but it seemed like he was heading up the mountain in a hurry, so we decided to delay him a bit.

Friar Peetor:

Are you challenging my massive insight? I think

Reynauld:

I like I like the we implication.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. It's just say my wife came in and was talking. I didn't get to hear all this. I'm just trying to figure this out. Like, we're attacking a giant because

DM:

The bottom line, the giant came out of the building that the two guys had had made fire Peter. He quickly stepped out, turned away from you guys, and started moving out out the backside of Longbridge looking like he's heading towards the entryway to Firestorm Peak.

Friar Peetor:

Yeah. This was right after two dudes made us. So you figure it out.

DM:

Or at least made fire Peter.

Friar Peetor:

Hey.

Georgi Sarel:

He did roll a 29 on an insight check though on whether he should stop them or not. So we may not know that, but he was very confident and he's on our team.

DM:

Oh, yeah. He's fire Peter had no no qualms. As soon as he saw him step out of your web.

Friar Peetor:

Stop that dude.

Reynauld:

Friendly neighborhood turtle man.

Friar Peetor:

Indeed.

DM:

Turtles in the half shell? Turtle power.

Friar Peetor:

I should point out that I can actually cast web at will. You get a web.

DM:

You get a web.

Friar Peetor:

And you

Georgi Sarel:

You know what's really funny? It's I just pictured, like, the spider pig, but it was like a turtle. It's like, spider pig, spider But now there's like a turtle crawling on the ceiling.

Friar Peetor:

You you haven't seen me do that, but I

Georgi Sarel:

can do that too. Alright.

DM:

I can't wait for you to cast a web then run your web.

Friar Peetor:

Right. I can do that too.

Georgi Sarel:

It's Just because it just because it seems like we might end up getting ourselves in a fight here.

Georgi Sarel:

Well, because we're in public. Right?

DM:

You guys are in a alleyway that's big enough for the giant to go through, but there's a big party going on in the main street behind you guys. You just left. So

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. I was gonna say

Friar Peetor:

Somebody might see.

Georgi Sarel:

Geo's name, but the squishy. I'll just give her a cast Shield of Faith on her, giving her plus two ace through her a c.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. I'll take that. I'm going to since we have no other plan right now, I'm gonna cast charm person

DM:

Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

On this giant. Giants are humanoids. Right?

DM:

Yes, they are.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay.

Friar Peetor:

Good idea.

Georgi Sarel:

So that is a wisdom 17. Does it count as are we are we fighting it?

DM:

You guys you guys have surprise rounds. So We're stuck. We're stuck. I'm not gonna give him advantage on this yet. Okay.

DM:

Because all he knows is that he wrapped up all he knows is he really tripped.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. He he tripped. So wisdom 17.

DM:

A three will not do it.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay.

DM:

So A three plus will A three plus will not do it at all.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. Charmed until the spell ends, which is one hour

Friar Peetor:

Yep.

Georgi Sarel:

Or somebody hits him. So nobody do anything, and don't let him trip again. So he's friendly to us, but once it ends, this guy's gonna know that we are no friends of his. So I suspect we need to move with some haste.

Friar Peetor:

Get it.

Georgi Sarel:

Mister Peter Friar, sir, would you like to question this individual?

Friar Peetor:

Oh. Walk over.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm gonna I'm gonna help the giant up from the ground.

DM:

You're like, yeah, let's help you up.

Friar Peetor:

You're like, you tripped on something there.

Georgi Sarel:

My friend, you tripped. Are you alright? I have not seen you in forever.

DM:

He goes, ugh. One of the revelers must have been throwing throwing the web balls again with those damn slingshots. He's like, And he starts pulling the web off as you get as you're helping him get to his feet and everything else. He's like, oh. He goes

Georgi Sarel:

Geo.

DM:

Geo. It's good to see you. I was like, I wasn't expecting you.

Georgi Sarel:

What what for are you doing this way?

DM:

Oh, he's like, you know, came out still an apprentice for my uncle working on his glass shop, but not really doing much else.

Georgi Sarel:

You guys are so talented. I've always been real jealous of your handiwork. Where were you heading in such a rush that you tripped?

DM:

He sort of looks at friar Peter for a second, and he looks back at you. He goes, no. That couldn't be right. I I my uncle had me wanted to go get a message up to some of his workers up in the in the mountain and everything else about a special order that just came in. You you noticed that he's kinda stumbling over his words.

DM:

He's trying to makes he's trying to cover up what he's actually trying to he's he's definitely trying to he's definitely lying to you.

Friar Peetor:

You see yep. You see see see my insight?

Georgi Sarel:

Look, my friend

Friar Peetor:

I I rolled a 30 insight. Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

I was like, why why why would you be sending an order during a night of revelry?

Friar Peetor:

He was like, oh.

Georgi Sarel:

Let let me let me make sure. You've met my my friend, Friar Peter. Of course. He's like,

DM:

no, I haven't. But he's like, I have never met a tortle before. And he goes, Friar Peter. He puts his hand up, shakes your hand and everything. He goes

Friar Peetor:

Shakety, shakety, shakety?

DM:

He goes, I he goes, I don't know. My uncle's he's always taking orders, especially this time. He goes and you gotta get all the orders in. He's like, you really gotta get the orders in before the tier shows up because that makes the whole difference of what mag what special build special art you can imbue in the in our work, in our glass work. Oh.

DM:

He's like

Georgi Sarel:

I forgot the tear was coming. How long do you think we got?

DM:

Oh, it'll it'll be here tomorrow. We think he's like the the weathercaster believes it'll show up we'll be good to see it appear over the sky about noon tomorrow, which will be really neat to see. Because I haven't seen I haven't seen the tier appear before. This will be be my first one, which I'm excited to see. And he goes, he goes, really good to see, but if you'll excuse me, mean, I gotta I gotta go back, talk to my uncle.

DM:

He sort of looks he goes, it looks like I I must have dropped the order. I I

Friar Peetor:

I I some I picked some webs off his legs. It's like, oh, you still got a couple of pieces left.

DM:

He's like, yeah. Be careful. He goes, there's these kids that always use these big giant slingshots that fire just random globes of stuff. And it looks like I got looks like I unluckily got hit by one of the web web globes. Does he believe this?

DM:

He's putting it in his mind and that's why he tripped. He he's he's he's convincing himself of this event. He's trying to he's trying to find his own explanation for it.

Georgi Sarel:

So he's he's friendly to us, but we can't actually stop him if he wants to leave unless we attack him, in which case the truck

Friar Peetor:

Wouldn't wouldn't think of it. He's our good friend.

DM:

He's like, yeah. He's like, I gotta go see my uncle. I I forgot the order. And it was called Peter.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, man.

DM:

It was it's

Georgi Sarel:

good to

DM:

meet you,

Friar Peetor:

Gio. He

DM:

he gets up and starts walking back towards

Georgi Sarel:

me. I cast modify memory.

DM:

Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Nice. Hang on a second. I gotta think about this. So, like, what am

Friar Peetor:

I doing?

DM:

Go ahead and go ahead and think about that one while I go

Georgi Sarel:

ahead and read.

Friar Peetor:

I won't won't meddle.

Georgi Sarel:

Do I do I have to roll for it and then tell you, or do I tell you and then roll?

DM:

Let me read.

Friar Peetor:

Nobody told me you had a men in black pen. What the heck?

DM:

Okay. So you So we'll make it simple. If he saves it doesn't work and everything else, then the charm falls off because they were both concentration.

Georgi Sarel:

Well, because exactly. Because I will be rupturing my concentration. Yep. But I feel like it's there's nothing else we can do short of attacking him What's

DM:

your wisdom save?

Georgi Sarel:

It's still it's still wisdom 17.

DM:

Yeah. Nice. He got a six plus. He got he's got enough.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay.

DM:

What what would you like how would you like to modify this fire giant's memory?

Georgi Sarel:

I would like to make it so that this fire giant has not seen any of us. He has been at the festivities since earlier on, and I'm more than 10 it's only it's it's been less than ten minutes since we met him. Right? Like, since he got zapped. Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

So basically, he never saw he never met with the two people in the little building that came and tattled on fire Peter. Okay. He never got information from them. He was on his way and none of this has been affected.

DM:

Okay. So he's sort of you know, when you cast it, he sort of looks he's starting to walk away then he looks at you, Jesus.

Georgi Sarel:

We're we're strangers in the alley with him. Yeah.

DM:

He stops and looks at you and and everybody can clearly see the blue screen of death on his face happen as his mind completely resets. What? Yeah. He sort of shakes it off and he goes

Georgi Sarel:

Nod. Hey.

DM:

He goes, sorry.

Friar Peetor:

Happy party day. Later, dude.

DM:

Yeah. Hey. Yeah. Comets. He says blessings on the tier be upon And you as he turns around and walks in walks back, and he sorta opens the door, looks at you guys again, shakes his head, and steps inside.

Georgi Sarel:

What do you guys do? I'm gonna kneel down and give a little elbow bump to friar Peter. I'm gonna be like, maybe we shouldn't do something about this.

Friar Peetor:

We we should we should we should watch to see if he he gets if he goes inside,

DM:

his uncle says, why are

Friar Peetor:

you back? Why didn't you go tell him? Or something like that. So it it may not stick. Let's stick around by the exit to see if if something happens.

Friar Peetor:

There's some nice shadows over there.

Georgi Sarel:

Or we go back to to Piat's place and get the fuck off the streets.

Friar Peetor:

True. Well, mean, that that's yes. I just wanna make sure that whatever you did stuck. What did you do, by the way? It's like it it was like you were whispering in his ear for a moment, and then he he just his brain his brain shut off.

DM:

He reset.

Georgi Sarel:

I honestly don't think I wanna clarify. I'm like fucking David Blaine and shit.

DM:

Right. A wizard never reveals his secrets.

Georgi Sarel:

But, no, basically, it was like, these are not the droids you're looking for.

Friar Peetor:

Luckily, my Arcana skill is plus zero, so it's

Georgi Sarel:

like, oh.

DM:

Minute goes by, door doesn't reopen. Two minutes to go by. You guys got revelers that are going around, bouncing around, and and it's you notice that as it gets closer to sunset, you guys are listening. You guys can hear the cheers of the the makeshift stadium of the fight. Looks like somebody definitely won big.

DM:

But five minutes goes by, and the door door doesn't reopen back up. But you notice the about the five minute mark, the two humanoids come the two humans come walking out and look at each other and begin moving the exact same way that the giant had done, but they're not. It's more like you can tell they've got the bag over their shoulder for the day type stuff. Looks like they're leaving whatever they were working on for the day.

Georgi Sarel:

They're clocking out?

DM:

Mhmm.

Georgi Sarel:

So I'm like, aside over my shoulder, catching the cable. Do we wanna grab them and question them or just let them go?

Friar Peetor:

Anything that we can tell from their demeanor.

DM:

Give me an insight check.

Friar Peetor:

Yep. This will be where I blow the roll. 17 will do.

DM:

Their demeanor is it's quitting time. Let's go get the let's go get the beers and head out. K. If there was some type of there is a little bit of frustration among from one of them, but they're the ones it gives you the impression it's like it's like, yeah. Something happened.

DM:

We're wrong. So what type of stuff? It's that you get that kind of a discussion between the two in the way they're talking and joking with each other. They're like, look. It's and you could definitely tell they're ready to go enjoy the party.

DM:

These guys are both younger humans. They're not they're probably not out of their twenties.

Georgi Sarel:

Wrong portal.

Friar Peetor:

Yeah. Good. So our guy went back in and talked him out of it. Sounds like.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Can always go question him if you want to. You you wanna you wanna go fight? Because it sounds like we've at least nipped the first whoopsie in the bud.

Reynauld:

You

Georgi Sarel:

are you could be a champion. We could probably bet some money for Celise.

Friar Peetor:

Sure. Yeah. Oh, that's old.

Reynauld:

Renault simply nods to your suggestion. And do we do we know which way the

Georgi Sarel:

We just head to the arena. Right?

Reynauld:

Yeah. I can't Like, which way the arena is.

DM:

You can't miss a 100 feet to one

Georgi Sarel:

Blank. Clank.

DM:

From the side.

Georgi Sarel:

Blank. Blank.

DM:

With fears of everything going up, and people are going up and up and down. As you

Georgi Sarel:

Question Yeah. For for for Peter. Do you have any way of changing your appearance, sir?

Friar Peetor:

I was gonna look at that. Well, I can always bring up the the the the cloak the hood on my cloak, if nothing else.

Reynauld:

I don't know if that makes

Friar Peetor:

me look that much different. It just looks I just look like a turtle in a cloak.

Reynauld:

If you have minor illusion, that might work. I don't remember exactly what the

Friar Peetor:

description Turtles don't Turtles can't

Reynauld:

I was referring to our wizard.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. I don't have I don't think Minor Illusion will work for that. Hang on. I'm looking at Disguise the disguise.

Reynauld:

Spell is the other one.

Georgi Sarel:

I can make him invisible.

Friar Peetor:

Oh. That sounds like fun.

Reynauld:

For how long?

Georgi Sarel:

I think it's an hour. Hold on. I can make you invisible for an hour.

Friar Peetor:

Well, that that can't hurt.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. We're definitely gonna need to take a nap. Alright. So then I am going to cast invisibility on Friar Peter. Everything that you are wearing or carrying is invisible for one hour.

Friar Peetor:

So nobody can see my historically sad baggage. Alright.

DM:

Prior Peter sort of vanished from sight. And you guys start moving towards the arena. Yep. You notice every now and again as you guys are walking?

Georgi Sarel:

They bump into something People trip, and they're like, what the fuck?

DM:

They literally walk along, and they thought they sort of walk off to the side like, what the hell is it?

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. Damn kids and their webs.

Friar Peetor:

Almost bumped into what happened to be an invisible turtle.

DM:

But as you walk up, Ronald, you're in the lead, and you see a basically a barker because you find Tin Can. Are you ready to take on our champion?

Reynauld:

Renald nods, steps forward.

DM:

He's like, not a man of words. I like it. And he looks at the rest he looks at

Georgi Sarel:

Who make bets?

DM:

And Gio. Mhmm. Does he speak, or do you are you guys does he speak, or do you know his name? Sort of like Oh. And he points over at Renault because Renault's just sort of standing there fully armored up.

Georgi Sarel:

Call call him tin can. Tin can. Okay. That's what he called him.

DM:

Yeah. Yeah. He's a walking 10 ks, so he's like kind of seeing if he could get him into something. It looks like he got him into a fight. He's like, oh, come on.

DM:

And a couple of guys come up to you, Renault, this way and lead you into the center of the arena. It's basically the standard, maybe 40 foot by 40 foot open area. It's got to make sure Here's

Friar Peetor:

your gift basket. It's got Gatorade in it. Turkey in it.

Georgi Sarel:

Do we do we place bets on him?

DM:

Yeah. He likes to place bets.

Georgi Sarel:

We don't know who he's fighting, but I'm still gonna place a bet on him.

Reynauld:

Is this just a, like, a, like, a fisty puffs fight, or is this like a fight fight carry?

DM:

You could you could choose to they tell you, you can choose to be weapons or you can choose to be weapons, your your play.

Reynauld:

I guess it depends on who my opponent is.

DM:

As you step as you step into the ring and everything else, you notice a rather burly fire giant standing there. You know, he's got a big, basically, like a big stone club and along with a the best way to describe it is is like a stone club and shield, but the shield looks more of a like an anvil that you can hit with as well. More of a shield. And the guy that's walked you in looks at you and he's like, look. He goes the more he goes rounds he goes rounds last thirty seconds, the more more more rounds you more rounds you survive, the more money more money you'll make.

DM:

But he goes at any point in time, you wanna yield, simply simply throw your hands up or throw down your weapon. He goes, tank over there.

Georgi Sarel:

Hands up. Don't throw that weapon down.

DM:

He goes, tank over there. He doesn't lose very often. But he goes, might be might be interesting to see what type of sounds he makes with your armor. He sort of taps on it. You guys are ready?

Georgi Sarel:

I know. What kind of fire giant uses a fucking club?

DM:

It's not it's not the standard like just wooden club. It's just a stone club with a nice it's more like a

Reynauld:

anvil on a stick?

DM:

Yeah. It's more like an anvil on a stick type thing.

Georgi Sarel:

What's the return on investment here?

DM:

You're just sort of waiting around, waiting for the people to put up numbers and everything else to kind of evaluate them. Mhmm. They're basically favoring the fire giant Titan. As they call them

Georgi Sarel:

Mhmm. At a Titan.

DM:

Yeah. So if basically, if Renault wins, it's a five to one return. They don't think Renault's gonna last more than one round.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. I'll

DM:

Every round after that, you'll get back. Basically, it's five to one odds. Every round beyond that, the odds go down. You know,

Georgi Sarel:

40 If I put five gold on Renault and he wins, then I get 25.

DM:

Yep.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright, buddy. I'm gonna take my hat off, smack the dust off it, tap them on the ass, and put it back upon them.

DM:

So they give you the big standard any Akus, you wanna get on the bedding? Prior, Peter, you're just sort of getting jostled around as people bounce into you.

Friar Peetor:

Gio, a 100 gold pieces pop into your hand. How many? Clank clank clank clank clank clank clank.

DM:

A 100.

Georgi Sarel:

How a 100?

DM:

He has you 10.

Friar Peetor:

I trust my companion.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. So a hun a 100. Alright. So then I I magically, out of my back Carhartt pocket, pull out another 100 gold, chink, chink, chink, chink, chink, and drop it into the guy's hand. And then I look at him sternly, like Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Andrew basically worried this just

DM:

made us

Georgi Sarel:

a target.

DM:

Basically marks something on a chip and hands it to you.

Georgi Sarel:

Mhmm.

DM:

And he's like, okay. The announcer steps up and everything else. And now the next challenger. Tin can. Tin can.

DM:

It's like, really? Okay. And you see Titan just sort of beat his chest a little bit.

Georgi Sarel:

And And we're all just sitting there going in

Reynauld:

And each round, how long did you say was Gary?

DM:

Thirty seconds. So each round is basically five actions.

Georgi Sarel:

Five five actions?

Reynauld:

Yep. Gotcha.

DM:

He's sort of standing there beating on his chest, and he's sees you sort of hesitate for a minute, sort of does the pump of the crowd and everything else, holds his hands in the air, and looks at you and does the rock thing where he just puts his hand out in front and says, bring it.

Reynauld:

Alright. No.

Georgi Sarel:

Come on. Take

Friar Peetor:

him out one shot.

Reynauld:

Rall draws draws his weapon and points his finger at the giant and

Friar Peetor:

What is your weapon? What is your weapon?

Reynauld:

It's a great sword.

DM:

Holds it up.

Reynauld:

The the weapon glows with a with a dim light and Renault casts Bane at the fire giant.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. It's like Babe

Reynauld:

Please Ruth like make me a Charisma saving throw.

DM:

Not with that roll.

Friar Peetor:

What's your total?

Reynauld:

You're 20. Charisma is your

DM:

That's three dice that are in jail.

Friar Peetor:

Yeah. You

Reynauld:

guys wanna try for

DM:

a fourth?

Reynauld:

Whenever you make an attack roll for for the next one minute or a saving throw before the spell ends, you must subtract one d four from the attack roll or save while you are under the effects of

Friar Peetor:

bane. Reverse guidance.

DM:

Reverse guidance.

Reynauld:

Yep. It's it's reverse guidance. Yeah.

Friar Peetor:

Reverse blast, actually, I guess.

DM:

He he feels the magic wash over him and he charges you, brings the club back behind you for and basically swings like an uppercut at you. Mhmm. Yeah. That's in jail. You got a dirty 20 to hit you.

Reynauld:

Well, I would assume it it will probably hit.

DM:

Okay. He's attempting to start strike, so I need to

Reynauld:

give you I'm sorry. Dirt a dirty 20 is in 20 versus AC total?

DM:

Yeah. 20 versus AC.

Reynauld:

Oh, I'm I'm sorry. I thought you rolled a 20.

DM:

No. I said dirty 20.

Reynauld:

Yeah. That does not hit him. Renault quickly sidesteps the attack.

DM:

Sidesteps the attack.

Georgi Sarel:

Because he's

DM:

a attack. You see the club go by you and everything else. He's come up he's come up to you. Sure go.

Reynauld:

He retaliates and swings his weapon at the giant.

DM:

Okay. You can be as creative as you want as with the description of your attacks as well, Renault. Please do. He's also go ahead.

Reynauld:

Did they specify if this was, you know, a battle to death or do I have to pull my punches? Oh, no. Fuck him up. Or is

Georgi Sarel:

it Yes. He has to give up.

DM:

It's at your discretion.

Reynauld:

Alright. Well, since he was so boisterous at first, Reynald is not gonna pull his punches and just gonna go all out for at least this first hit. Do you want me to

DM:

Yeah. Roll damage. Gary? Alright. Yeah.

DM:

Roll strike.

Georgi Sarel:

Gall in.

Reynauld:

Roll strike.

Friar Peetor:

Build bring how many missiles?

Reynauld:

That would be 31 versus AC. Hit? That hits. Alright. That would be two d six plus eight plus another d six, I believe, from the Radiant oh, another d eight from the Radiant strikes.

Reynauld:

So d six, d six, d eight rule. So that's eight 16 points of slashing damage and five points of radiant damage on top of that, Gary.

DM:

Okay. You swing you catch him on the side as he staggers backwards and everything. You're on first blood and the crowd cheers wildly. He spins with a well, he's

Friar Peetor:

That was his first attack. Doesn't he have a lot of them?

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. I

DM:

don't go ahead, Renault. You got multiple attacks?

Reynauld:

That is true. Renault will follow-up

Georgi Sarel:

and try again. Peter's like, I'll put a 100 gold on you.

Friar Peetor:

He's right.

Reynauld:

It's 26 versus AC, Gary.

DM:

As well.

Friar Peetor:

There's some quick There's some bonus action double slice.

Georgi Sarel:

Guys did. Okay.

Reynauld:

A quick double slice. So that would be another 14 points of slashing and another seven points of radiant. Okay.

Friar Peetor:

Good start.

Georgi Sarel:

Did you

DM:

get another attack?

Friar Peetor:

You got it.

Reynauld:

Try to be a bonus action attack. I just get I just get two attacks per action.

Friar Peetor:

Any bonus action attacks you could throw at him? Any explosive dice of doom die things I'll hit him with?

Georgi Sarel:

Maybe the maybe the guy who bet a 100 gold should be throwing some inspiration.

Friar Peetor:

How far away is he?

DM:

Like I said, the arena is only only about a 40 foot square.

Friar Peetor:

Oh.

DM:

So it's a close it's a close combat. You guys are on the ground. Basically in the entryway. Renault, he stepped back from your cuts and everything else. He takes his big giant club, slams him in the ground, and you see a brilliant flash of light Rout rout.

DM:

In front of you. Please give me a constitution saving throw, please. Out.

Reynauld:

Rolled over 14. That would be a 12, Gary.

DM:

Okay. Unfortunately, not enough. As you see that light go off, you suddenly lose sight of the of the giant as you're as all you can see is big bright starry stars in front of you. The rest of you can see Rudolph sort of pull his head back from the the giant flashes just like everybody in the audience does. And the next thing they until the end of his next turn, you are blinded.

DM:

Mhmm. Is

Friar Peetor:

that a spell effect or is it a the just a bright light in his eyes?

DM:

It's it's a spell effect. Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

So that's the condition blinded?

Friar Peetor:

Yep. Alright. Dispel magic.

DM:

Oh, you're gonna interrupt and do some spell dispel magic?

Friar Peetor:

Give it a shot. Never done it before.

DM:

Just so you can target the effect. Let me double check. I think you can target the effect in Renault. I mean because

Georgi Sarel:

it's not it's not counterspell.

DM:

Yeah. It's not it's not counterspell.

Friar Peetor:

Creature, object,

Georgi Sarel:

or magical should be able to dispel magic.

DM:

Yep. You can dispel magic. Yep. Go ahead.

Reynauld:

That bring him out of the invisibility, Gary? Does this count as an attack?

DM:

It it will count as an attack. Casts a spell. He'll pop out of his invisibility.

Friar Peetor:

Does it count as an attack?

DM:

Yes.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. I'm gonna You are

Reynauld:

casting a spell. A spell.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm gonna I'm gonna take the back of my jacket and just, like, whoop, right over the top of Riot Peter's head. Now I now I look like a

DM:

The hunchback centaur. Your Renault, as quickly as your light blindness goes takes effect, it's gone, and you can clearly see the giant waiting for you waiting for you to react.

Reynauld:

Well, I guess since Renal can see, he will he'll then try to attack the giant. Okay. Hopefully, we're all better.

DM:

He's got he's got a bit of a surprise look on his face like, oh, shit. That didn't work.

Friar Peetor:

They got a 100 gold right now. But

Reynauld:

this time, Renault's weapon glows with a bright light as he prepares a divine smite. So 17 plus 14, that'd be 31 versus AC.

DM:

That hits.

Friar Peetor:

That's what I was hoping to see. But I can't see it because all I can see is the sweaty back of my compatriot.

Reynauld:

So it's another two d

Friar Peetor:

Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

Tramp stamp too.

DM:

What's the tramp stamp look like?

Georgi Sarel:

It looks like the Wyoming logo.

DM:

That would be

Reynauld:

15 points of slashing and wait. How much was it?

DM:

Shows 22 on the board. So

Reynauld:

Oh, well, some of it is radiant is what I'm So I don't know if it matters.

DM:

No. It doesn't.

Reynauld:

And since I get two attacks per action, quickly follow-up with another attack. Okay. This one is not a smite because I used my bonus action already. 25 versus AC.

DM:

It's as well.

Georgi Sarel:

While everyone's distracted, I'm gonna reach behind my back and cast invisibility again.

Friar Peetor:

No. Thank you.

Reynauld:

Another 19 damage on top

Georgi Sarel:

Yank of Peter out from under my jacket by the back of his cloak.

DM:

He seems a little bit worse for wear.

Georgi Sarel:

Mhmm.

DM:

And he comes in his his swing's coming you noticed that he was normally just swinging once with you? He comes in with three separate swings.

Friar Peetor:

Oh.

DM:

18. Miss? 19.

Reynauld:

Miss?

DM:

24.

Reynauld:

There you go. Okay.

Friar Peetor:

Need to

Reynauld:

Perry the first two got hit by the by the last one.

Friar Peetor:

Parried the platypus?

DM:

Neither. Constitution saving

Reynauld:

throw. Any damage?

DM:

No. Constitution saving throw is also determined help determine damage.

Reynauld:

Gotcha.

DM:

But yeah. It's it's much lower.

Friar Peetor:

11. Nice roll. Nice roll, Renaud. Wow.

Reynauld:

Right?

DM:

He has stunned you till the end of his next turn. All you needed was a 12 to get out of it. I was like, did he actually fail that?

Reynauld:

Do we have any hero points?

DM:

Too late. You already know there is one of the options.

Friar Peetor:

Whump. Whump. Twenty four twenty.

DM:

26 points of double bludgeon and damage, and you are stunned

Reynauld:

Mhmm.

DM:

Till the end of his next

Friar Peetor:

turn. Uh-oh.

Georgi Sarel:

Didn't he didn't he already have disadvantage though because of the

Friar Peetor:

previous He's at minus four.

DM:

He's at minus four to hit.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. Alright.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, did that factor in?

DM:

So 24 minus one is 23.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, is it d four or is it minus four?

Georgi Sarel:

I thought it was minus four too.

DM:

It was I rolled it I rolled

Reynauld:

a d four. It's a d four.

DM:

I rolled I rolled a d four. Got

Georgi Sarel:

a one. And you rolled a one the only time that

Reynauld:

it's That in matches by AC, so you still strike.

DM:

Okay. That could have made a big difference.

Georgi Sarel:

It could have. Yes. Just checking.

DM:

Alright. You see

Reynauld:

If you're older too, he would have missed.

DM:

Yeah. He would have missed. You guys see Renault stagger backwards under the, you know, quick the the heavy swings of the his club. Oh, man. He's Renault's pairing two of them.

DM:

The last one, see him catch him on the shoulder and glance give him a glancing blow off his head, but enough to stagger him around the arena.

Friar Peetor:

Look. That helmet's spinning.

DM:

Yeah. Basically, so he follows up immediately with an attack with with three more attacks against you since your turns it's basically gone since you're incapacitated, but you're still standing. 20 let's see. Oh, you see him swing? Do you see him swing for Renault, and he's it sorta over judges his swing.

DM:

And you see a couple spectators get knocked out of the crowd. As he's getting rid of the spectators off, he swings wide at Renault again. The final one, he hits him for a actually, all the attacks are made with advantage?

Georgi Sarel:

They're advantage because he's incapacitated.

Friar Peetor:

Renaud's staggering around and he's just swinging at him, missing and hitting the ground. No. Even with the advantage that

DM:

goes on, so I need to do one more with advantage. Does he twenty twenty one doesn't hit you, Renault, does it?

Reynauld:

21 does not hit me. Okay.

DM:

27 hits you minus

Georgi Sarel:

Yes. Minus what?

DM:

Minus four down to 23.

Reynauld:

That still matches my AC. Oh.

DM:

Yep. Alright. He's trying for a knockout blow here to knock you unconscious and and finish the match. Please give me a constitution saving throw at twelve or better.

Reynauld:

Seeing the dice screw me again.

Georgi Sarel:

Come on.

Reynauld:

A freak's 14.

Georgi Sarel:

12 or better. Right?

DM:

He doesn't fat. And you get your last last attack of the your your last and his his last attack of the round. So you go.

Reynauld:

So am I no longer stunned?

DM:

Yeah. It was the end of his the end of his turn. Your your stunned. Falls off.

Georgi Sarel:

You're back.

Reynauld:

Yep. So Renaud, like, catches his balance, shake his head a little bit to regain a little bit of his composure.

DM:

You feel some of the crowd push you back out towards him? Yep. Stumbling towards the edge of the ring.

Reynauld:

Yep. I heal looks of the giant and cast whole person. Please roll roll me a wisdom saving throw. Alright.

DM:

20 total.

Reynauld:

Ties go to the roller?

DM:

Yep. Ties go to the roller. Meets it, beats it.

Reynauld:

Roll a d four because it's a saving It doesn't matter what you roll because It's d one less and yep. So you are you are held. You are paralyzed

DM:

Yep.

Reynauld:

For one minute.

DM:

Oh. Oh. You see him sort of you see the you see Rudolph sort of how do you how do you cast cast a spell when you look at him?

Reynauld:

What follows do take? He holds his sword, basically, pointing downwards with his fist holding the sword with, like, the butt of the sword Yeah. Pointing up. And it has a a sigil of the a blessed sigil on the bottom of the sword. So it just points points at that end.

Reynauld:

You see it says, stay still.

DM:

Stay still. You can see him go freeze for a second. Notice he strikes the pose, about the time about the time you're you're figuring he would come at you and everything else, you hear the ringing of the bell that you're end of round one. Do you leave him paralyzed? Do you leave do you leave the whole person to spell up?

Reynauld:

It it's up for one minute. Do rounds start immediately, or do we get, like, a break in between?

DM:

You get a pretty good idea that if you don't let him go back to his corner, there's gonna be a problem?

Friar Peetor:

How much Sure. Go ahead.

Reynauld:

I let him go.

DM:

Thirty seconds of round one is done, so the first thirty seconds is gone.

Reynauld:

Yep. K.

Georgi Sarel:

So so far, there's no winner or loser because it's it's it's one round. Right?

DM:

Yeah. That's the first round. So

Reynauld:

you you

Georgi Sarel:

So right right now, Renald could quit and we would have 525 golds.

DM:

That is correct. Because he lasted around with them.

Georgi Sarel:

And the game is over.

DM:

Yep.

Georgi Sarel:

Or he could keep going. And what happens if he continues? That five to one becomes what?

DM:

Four to one?

Georgi Sarel:

On top of what we've already done.

DM:

So you'll get the five so your first round will give that, then the same money gets rolled over that you do the four to one odds because you survived the round. You notice that I'm not gonna try to figure out all the math and everything.

Georgi Sarel:

No. I could do I could do the math. I think Melissa would, like, want us to keep going.

DM:

So, yeah. It is your choice. You guys got a you guys got about thirty you got about thirty seconds to decide.

Friar Peetor:

Ronald, do you wanna come 30. To Yeah.

Georgi Sarel:

Ultimately, I think, Ronald, that's up to you because you are the one fighting.

DM:

So you see the you see the crowd going up and, you know, they're kinda Tin can. Tin you got you got a lot more say in Tin can than than you'd expect to be seeing Titan. The announcers doing the pipe of the crowd. You noticed that the fire giant is healing from some of his wounds, taking the time to heal up. And you see the dancer eventually takes a break while he's got the crowds rep worked up to the frenzy.

DM:

He said, hey. You survived the first round, Tin Can. You wanna make it two?

Georgi Sarel:

Renald, do you or what's your hit points at?

Reynauld:

One thirty one of one fifty seven. About 20 ish something down.

Friar Peetor:

Leave it while you're on top.

Reynauld:

Let's do one more round.

DM:

One more round?

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Hey, I'm gonna I'm gonna throw a hold on. I'm looking at my healing potions.

Friar Peetor:

Why are you why are you healing? Well,

Georgi Sarel:

because I I feel like there's somebody else who could be offering to help.

Friar Peetor:

I may

Georgi Sarel:

But you can't do anything because you're invisible right now.

Friar Peetor:

There's another cleric.

Georgi Sarel:

He I was gonna I was gonna well, yeah. I'm trying to say. I was gonna do shield of faith on Renault, so I get in plus two to his AC.

Georgi Sarel:

There you go.

Reynauld:

There you go. Never mind. You're already concentrating on one spell. So I was gonna say you wouldn't happen to have haste on you, would you?

Georgi Sarel:

I don't have it. But if I

DM:

You'd have to drop the invisibility.

Georgi Sarel:

I'd to drop the invisibility on Peter.

Reynauld:

It's fine. Alright.

Georgi Sarel:

Do you hear the bells? How many hit points you down?

Reynauld:

What? Like, 25.

DM:

No. You did realize that Titan

Georgi Sarel:

I can heal you and give you exactly 25 back.

Friar Peetor:

You should do it. Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Uh-huh. You should. I'll do that. I got I'll cast secure wounds on him. I got the

Reynauld:

Okay.

Georgi Sarel:

Level one spell, so that'll give him exactly 25 back.

DM:

Yeah. You do realize that titan's first round seemed to all about basically trying to knock you unconscious the very first round. Mhmm. So this guy is definitely a brawler. And you hear the after the healing takes place, you get the you hear the ringing of the bell.

DM:

And as you you guys are both stepping away from your corners and everything else. Titan hesitates. His hesitation isn't even there any he comes he comes charging across the ring at you and just three quick swings. This is no more of playing nice and trying to knock you down. It looks like he's trying he's gonna try to inflict as much hurt on you as you did on him.

Reynauld:

Okay.

DM:

So I'm gonna roll the d four first, see how much he leaves. If Actually, you you roll the d four because it's your bait.

Reynauld:

No. I was gonna say it's only for one minute. So if there was enough time between the rounds, it probably fell off already, Gary. So you don't

DM:

have to roll. No. There's thirty seconds between the rounds.

Reynauld:

Concentration up to one minute.

DM:

So So if So I

Reynauld:

cast it on the first

DM:

Yep. That's what I say. Attack

Reynauld:

during first round.

DM:

Okay. You roll d four for me. Sure. Four. He loses four on every swing.

Georgi Sarel:

Why can't I roll like that, dude?

DM:

So he starts off at a negative one and gets up, misses with that one. 23 with the next one.

Reynauld:

23 matches, so that one hits.

DM:

And 27 Hits. Yep. So 22

Georgi Sarel:

hits. You got you got a plus two to your AC. Remember that. So you're at 25.

Reynauld:

I'm sorry. Yeah. That's right. I have

Georgi Sarel:

Second one misses. Third one hits.

Reynauld:

So, yeah, second one misses. Yeah. I'm now at 25

Georgi Sarel:

Okay.

Reynauld:

AC. So one hit.

Georgi Sarel:

Akuz, that's awesome.

DM:

Nicely done.

Friar Peetor:

Yep.

DM:

Thanks. And 15 points of bludgeoning damage.

Friar Peetor:

Okay.

DM:

Yeah. He rolled really low. Alright. Those were his three strikes against you as he moved in.

Friar Peetor:

He comes in. Tongue, tongue, tongue. He just looks at him. And Alright.

Georgi Sarel:

Return. Peter Peter, don't break your invisibility. I gotta go pee.

DM:

I just

Friar Peetor:

I just said you're very happy. Go go go, my team. I'll be right back.

DM:

That's a great carriageway. Ronald, it's your go. What would you like to do?

Reynauld:

He retaliates. Okay. So let's see. First hit. 23 versus AC.

DM:

Hits.

Reynauld:

So, actually, I'm gonna divine some item with it with the bonus action. So that's 22 points of damage slashing and radiant. Okay.

DM:

Smashes. Potential tap.

Reynauld:

And the second attack of my action. Oh, high high roll. 32 points. 32 versus AC.

DM:

Yes. That definitely gets and you haven't rolled a you haven't rolled a natural 20 or a critical yet.

Reynauld:

I have not.

DM:

That that

Friar Peetor:

role hit his ancestors.

Reynauld:

He's 12 points of damage.

DM:

Alright. He's he's looking as

Reynauld:

A quick one two.

DM:

Yeah. He's he's looking as bad as when you went into the first round. He's kinda staggering. He's got a bit of a stunned look on his face, but he he returns three quick attacks against you. Okay.

DM:

Give give me a d four roll. Two. Two. That's a 12 that misses. That's an 18 that misses.

DM:

And that is a 27.

Reynauld:

27 hits? Tom.

DM:

I need you to roll me a dexterity saving throw because the last one swings, swing. He swings at you twice, and then he says to kick in the chest, trying to take you off your feet.

Reynauld:

That would be 13. Dex is pretty low.

Georgi Sarel:

Got it.

DM:

You you are knocked prone. And take 11 21 points of bludgeoning damage.

Reynauld:

Okay.

DM:

He stays on top of you. So

Friar Peetor:

if you're gonna try to get up while it's your go, if you're gonna try to get your feet,

DM:

he is gonna try to oppose you to keep you down.

Friar Peetor:

Sweep the legs, Johnny.

Reynauld:

Is it an athletics check?

DM:

Yeah. It's not

Georgi Sarel:

Like, an opposing strength check. Right?

DM:

Yeah. It's an Thank you.

Reynauld:

Okay. Opposing strength check. Can I use an athletics check instead? I guess that's my question.

DM:

Yeah. You can use your athletics check.

Reynauld:

The reason I'm asking is I get advantage on athletics checks. Okay. I'm gonna try and stand up, and so I'll roll that athletics check with a with an advantage. Mhmm.

DM:

You rolled 25 total.

Reynauld:

I rolled low. So that would be 19. So he

DM:

He manages your movement. You don't get off the ground.

Reynauld:

Okay.

DM:

It just burns your movement, not your action.

Reynauld:

For this round, that's it?

DM:

Yeah. Well, you still get your attacks.

Reynauld:

Oh, okay. Yeah. This was this

DM:

was nothing more than him. You trying to get to your feet, he's like, nope. Stay on the ground. So he can have advantage when he attacks you. Go

Reynauld:

ahead. Well, it worked it worked well the first time. Let's do it again. Please give me a a wisdom saving throw, hold person again.

DM:

Give me a d four roll, please. Four. Yay. He fails. You see him freeze in place for a moment.

DM:

It's your it's your go again. I know.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright.

Friar Peetor:

I believe you have advantage.

Reynauld:

I do have advantage. Yes. You do. What is b?

Georgi Sarel:

It's that's your the top roll.

DM:

Is that

Reynauld:

natural 20?

DM:

Yep. Yep.

Georgi Sarel:

Mhmm.

Reynauld:

Oh, a crit.

DM:

Yeah. That's a crit.

Reynauld:

That's a crit. I will burn my divine smite on this one as well. I will upscale it to level

Friar Peetor:

Max it. Max it.

DM:

Yeah. After he's kept you on the ground, he's got his sort of hands above his head and everything like Yeah. Pumping away around upscale it.

Georgi Sarel:

So when you say he put his hands up, doesn't that mean he's out? It's on?

DM:

No. He's pumping up the crowd.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh. He knows that you were

DM:

wave his hands to pump his because and he's frozen that that pose of pump up the crowd

Georgi Sarel:

Got it.

DM:

As Renaud.

Georgi Sarel:

Oh, that's even funnier. He was trying to, like, be a douche.

Reynauld:

So while while he's standing still, Renaud stands up, really prepares the swing to to to get really a good hit. And with the fourth divine level divine smite, he strikes at him.

Georgi Sarel:

Did we just kill a fire giant?

Reynauld:

One, two, three, four, five, six. And with a a calm voice, Renault says, burn in the light.

DM:

There's a big giant flashlight as you swing at them and connect. And you see him as I you know, you see him sort of roll back in the head and everything else. You see his body go limp even inside the your spell that's holding him. And then you feel your spell get ripped away the the whole person's spell get ripped away from him. And somebody else cast a spell magic against him.

DM:

And you see him sort of slump to the ground, smash into it unconscious, but breathing. And there's like a moment of stunned silence in the room. And it it takes about five, six seconds for the crowd to sort of like, what just happened?

Friar Peetor:

The crowd goes by

DM:

the crowd

Georgi Sarel:

goes went down. Yeah.

DM:

The announcer comes back out

Friar Peetor:

Tin Can is the winner.

DM:

And he comes up to you, you know, people are throwing flowers and bread.

Georgi Sarel:

Wait. So if Titan is down and we can't go more than two rounds, there's no way we can make any more money. Right?

DM:

Right. Fight's over with this one.

Georgi Sarel:

Alright. Well, Friar stay undercover, but you made 2,000 gold.

Friar Peetor:

Oh, good.

DM:

So

Friar Peetor:

Money. Money. Money. Money.

DM:

So I know who to talk to when I say, I'm just gonna give you the odds. Gio, you figure out what the money makes off it.

Georgi Sarel:

Well, yeah. 5 and a 100 went to 25 and 500 went to 102,000.

DM:

Yeah. But what I'm

Georgi Sarel:

saying is I give Also, Jesus Ken, what the fuck?

Friar Peetor:

Never told me the odds.

DM:

He always plays the odds.

Georgi Sarel:

So I

DM:

take it you guys after winning and people cheering and coming up to congratulate you, you guys make your way back to Piot's place.

Georgi Sarel:

Yeah. We did a great job being inconspicuous. Right.

Friar Peetor:

We did. Yes. We did. That.

Georgi Sarel:

But no. So literally, like, Peter, you're, like, holding on to my belt loop. Right. It's how we're we're doing this. Like, don't cast anything.

Georgi Sarel:

Don't do anything. I got the purse.

DM:

Don't even I wear

Georgi Sarel:

got my hand on my hip. We're we're basically pretending to be a crew of merry dudes.

DM:

There you go. So Don't call me merry. Can we call you Samuel?

Friar Peetor:

Call me Peter.

DM:

You guys managed to make it back to Piot's place as the sun sets, and the town lights up with flying, glowing lanterns, fireworks. It is just a big celebration. Piat explains that the night before the comet arrives, they've

Friar Peetor:

you know, one

DM:

of the traditions is to light this is to light the night as bright as the comet lights it up. Now you guys do know now that the comet does arrive tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow.

Friar Peetor:

We gotta we gotta we gotta get out of here.

DM:

But at the same time, you also know that they've gotta they've gotta complete their ritual.

Georgi Sarel:

It's it takes a day for the ritual. Correct?

DM:

About a day for the ritual to happen. So your timing is gonna be fun. But you guys make it back. You've won your gold. You guys managed not to successfully not reveal yourself in town.

Georgi Sarel:

Janikan. So I don't I don't know if you took those 100 gold out of your inventory, Ken, but you should Oh,

Friar Peetor:

I did. And I put the 2,000 back.

Georgi Sarel:

Yep. Put 2,000 in there.

Friar Peetor:

Don't worry. Hero's feast for everyone tomorrow.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm like Wait till

Friar Peetor:

you see the cost of that sucker.

Georgi Sarel:

Well, that that's what's really funny is, like, I was like, I'll bet stuff because if I can bet stuff, then I can buy some more expensive spell components. But now I'm like

Friar Peetor:

Yeah.

DM:

You know, you win the symbol of the drag you win you win a symbol of the dragon's tier. You're now a dragon tier champion.

Georgi Sarel:

Woo hoo.

Reynauld:

How appropriate. Yeah.

DM:

How appropriate. Well

Georgi Sarel:

Is he does he get, like, an additional, like, sticker? Like, does his emblem have something cool on it?

Reynauld:

He's got they they put a a little gold star on my on my armor.

DM:

Yeah. They put it now. They actually give participation award. They actually give you a gold medal that's shaped like a comet. And the backside, it's it's got the comet.

DM:

But when you actually take a look at the detail, the comet is more looks like a reptilian eye as the with the tail of it coming out. But you also notice that at the very bottom and the corners of the eye, you can see little tears that they've carved they've etched into the metal that are sort of falling away that are actually turning into what is the comet's tail as the eye sheds a tear.

Georgi Sarel:

That's fucking rad.

DM:

So but you guys successfully make it back? Peat's impressed. He's like, you beat Titan,

Friar Peetor:

Well done.

DM:

But with that being said, we'll there's no objections. We'll go ahead and bring tonight's chaos to a close.

Friar Peetor:

Can we squeak in a long rest before the the next events?

DM:

Oh, yeah. I mean, unless

Georgi Sarel:

because it's only supposed to be it's only evening. Right? So we have

DM:

Sun to is just set. You guys got till you guys got till the afternoon of of the next day before but, yeah, even if you guys start off early in the morning, you guys will squeak in enough for a long rest.

Friar Peetor:

Okay. Good.

Georgi Sarel:

Okay. I'm gonna make a note side to myself. When I did the five gold, given the pay scale that we had based this on, I was assuming that some of that was mine and some of that was Celisa's who was staying back. I'm going to share that

DM:

goal with her. If you you want, you can make what do you think Solis would really have bet?

Georgi Sarel:

She she probably would have bet more, but I don't know what's in her purse to start with. So Well,

DM:

let's just say, how much do think she would have bet?

Georgi Sarel:

I think she would have bet at least 20 gold. I don't think she would have done a 100 because that seems like

DM:

Let's let's give her 20 then.

Reynauld:

Give her the first 20. Roll d 100 and see what happens.

Georgi Sarel:

And then her then her her 20 of a 20. Would have become 100, which would have become 500.

DM:

There you go.

Georgi Sarel:

So she gets 500 gold when she Yep. Okay.

DM:

And we you guys can all rub it in to both Rowan and Salees about the absolute chaos you guys got to cause. Thank you all.

Georgi Sarel:

I think that was that was that was for having people missing, I think that was actually a pretty fucking awesome game.

DM:

That was fun. I I try to keep it balanced, but as always, I'd like to thank you all for playing.

Reynauld:

Thank you for having us, Gary.

Georgi Sarel:

I'm going to revisit my prepared spells. I'm just gonna throw that one out there. I'm like, I have all these spells where I can just annihilate people, but apparently, I need some so that I can just, like, hide in corners.

Reynauld:

Right. Remember It's always good to have a good mix.

DM:

You have an infiltration mission coming up ahead of you.

Georgi Sarel:

Mhmm. Fair.

DM:

Alright, guys. Thank you. I'll see you all in two week.

Friar Peetor:

Sounds good. Thank you,

DM:

sir. Thank you much.

Georgi Sarel:

You know that I'm always gonna have questions.

DM:

Geo always has questions. Well, it looks like our heroes enjoyed the Dragon Steer celebration and even managed not to reveal themselves to the fire giant clan of Firestorm Peak. Our heroes are heading down for the night to enjoy a restful night before their journey into an active volcano. Once again, we'd like to thank our sponsor, Eldritch Express. Scrolls delivered before the final boss.

DM:

Thank you for listening to Smash, Slut, and Roll, and see you next time. Take care.
